Puppet Making Workshop

A series of three community workshops to learn puppet building techniques. During these workshops we learned puppet building techniques through the construction of 4 bird and 1 polar bear puppet. Participants learned how to use paper-mache,construct forms out of cardboard and how to finish a puppet using felt.

The workshops were intended to gather community to participate in the Annual Santa Parade & Hometown Holiday Fireworks (Wellsville, NY): Organized by the Babcock Theatre Preservation Society and Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce. This high-traffic Main Street parade float brings the artwork directly to thousands of families, raising conservation awareness prior to the formal exhibition.
